Role Play General Rules

What is role play?
Role play is like a pretend game. Sort of similar to acting with threads and posts.

Who can RP?
For Hogwarts RP, you have to take the Sorting Hat Quiz, which will be open every term (every 12 weeks). After being sorted into a house, you will be able to RP.
Unless you have been invited by a Mod/Admin, you have to role play in the Hogwarts role play for at least one term before applying for a Ministry/Diagon Alley/St. Mungo's job.

How many characters can we have?
ONE! You may only have one character throughout the site. If you wish to change character, you may do that, but not on this thread, for there's a specific thread for you to post in in order to change your character.

How can we have an adult character?
To have an adult character, you must have to role play at Hogwarts as a student for at least one term. Then, you may send in an application for a new character. But your application may not be approved.
Another way to have an adult character is to be chosen by a mod/administrator.

GENERAL RULES

1. Follow all WW rules. It doesn't matter if it's role play, it still applies here.
2. Be realistic. Remember all you have read/seen in the Harry Potter books/films. Be descriptive and realistic with your role playing. Especially with the house you are in, your personality, and your situation you're in.
3. No inappropiateness! No exceptions.
4. Use OOC whenever you're saying something out-of-character. So for example. OOC: I think you spelled the spell 'imperius' wrong.
5. Make sure you are talking in third person. For example, if your character's name is Jessica and you wanted to describe how she feels when she fell down the stairs, you may NOT say "I feel like every bone in my body cracked." You may say something like "JESSICA feels like every bone in her body cracked."
6. Do not change your character's personality. If you are very snobby in one RP, DO NOT change your character into someone very nice and charming. Remember, this is not an inflection of you, it is only what you FEEL LIKE RPing.
