The Kitchen

The Hogwarts kitchen is located directly under the Great Hall, down the same staircase that leads to the Hufflepuff Common Room. It contains tables identical to those in the Great Hall and are directly below them; food must simply be placed on the tables in the kitchens, and it magically appears in the Great Hall. The kitchens are staffed by over 100 house-elves. To gain access to the kitchens, one must tickle the pear on a fruit portrait, which then turns into a door knob.

Blinka looked carefully around the empty kitchen. Well... sort of. All the other house elves are gone to the Common Rooms to do their cleanings there. It is right now only Blinka and the others to prepare breakfast today.

What Blinka is looking forward to is to see a witch or wizard to sneak in and request for some food. Blinka loves to serve those funny little students. The first thing she should put in their hands would be a a bowl of tomato soup and a handful of crackers.

Silently, Samantha crept along the winding passageways, through the cold, wind-swept corridors, and finally, with the help of her map, (She knew the way, but as the doubtful person she is, she always took precautions and never really trusted herself), she found the old, dusty portrait of the fruits. Smirking, she tickled the intriquitely designed pear, and the ancient door knob turned ever so slightly. Samantha took ahold of it and peeked in, a weaved pair of sweaters that she had made in her precious downtime clutched in her shaky hands. She knew what she was doing, freeing house-elves, yet she knew she must fight for what she believed in. "Is anyone there?" She called through the seemingly empty metal-covered kitchen.
